Question Will this motherboard work with the i7-7700k?

H-170 PRO - Motherboard

The motherboard is a 6-7 gen motherboard but on pcpartpicker it says there is a problem? I upgraded my bios and everything I just want to make sure that CPU will work for the motherboard

Yes it will work as long as you update the BIOS before installing a 7th generation cpu (7700k). The BIOS update will need to be done with a 6th generation cpu. This assumes the BIOS installed is too old to support 7th generation CPU’s.

You are aware you won’t be able to use the overclocking features of your ‘k’ cpu?

I'm somewhat aware, I have an i-7 6700 NOT k and just upgraded my bios today, I'm not sure if I should get a 7700k with new ram or an i-7 9700k with a new motherboard

The 7700k is a small improvement over the 6700, just the faster clockspeed. The 9700k is a more useful upgrade, the i5 9600k outperforms the 7700k and the 9700k has 2 extra cores. However are sure the 6700 is limiting you, it’s still a strong cpu?

I would get the 9700k however I have to get another motherboard which I really am not looking forward too. The 6700 is good but the game I play is heavily CPU intensive so i'm looking for a good cpu that matches with my motherboard, and the 7700k seems like it works if you say so
