Yes, at 1080p that should have no problem running BF3 or any game for that matter on full settings.

One thing to note: Unless you are getting a home theater system or 7.1 surround setup, you won't need the sound card as the difference will be basically unnoticeable on normal speakers. Motherboards have excellent integrated sound these days. I would personally use the money on a larger SSD (around 120GB) as 60GB will fill up really really fast.

Just my two cents :)

A GTX 670 will run BF3 on full max settings - but not at a constant 60fps.

Expect frequent and long drops to the 45-55fps range on a lot of maps, especically on ones like Caspian Border, Sienne Crossing and any B2K or CQ maps.

64 player games will also make your fps dip a little more too.

If this is an issue, to get a solid 60fps 98%+ of the time use these settings:

All details on High, 4xMSAA, 16x AF, SSAO, and High post-processing. (you can also get away with Motion blur on full)

This will give you stable fps and will only decrease visuals by an almost unnoticeable amount.

I have i5 3,3 and HD 6870 4GB RAM
my RIG can only run on high, on Ultra it choked..
I read your spec and I think you can get the Ultra setting..
man, I envy of your RIG..

At stock it will hover around the 60fps mark and drop every now and then, but if you overclock it a bit then it should keep your fps above 60, I have a Asus 670 overclocked to 1150mhz core and I dont think it has ever dropped below 60fps.

Check my sig - I use a EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition, which is highly overclocked and I know first hand that playing 64player games on a lot of maps will cause you to fall below 60fps. Not all areas mind, but atleast 1 area on most maps will cause a dip, and for people like me (fps whores) thats too much of a compromise for not a lot of graphical detail.

The worst for it are definitely B2K (apart from Wake), after a few mins on these when the buildings are damaged, then playing below 60fps is the norm.

The above link shows an average of 60.1 fps on my card - that means there MUST have been frames lower than 60 because is some places in their test fps would have been in the 80s.

On the reference card, it shows an average of 55.4, so its obvious this will be below 60 frequently.

EVGA GTX 670 FTW only has a mild overclock to 1006mhz so its not the 1150 that I'm talking about, I have just been playing Armored kill for a few hours and I never went below 60fps.

Why are you arguing with me about overclocks? The OP has chosen a reference card, so its irrelevant what you get.

You can overclock the reference cards and the OP has said nothing about any objection to overclocking his card.

As for arguing, the OP asked about using ultra setting on BF3, you stated it will not be at a constant 60fps and I agreed with you; however I put forward another option which would be to overclock the card to achieve his goal.
You disputed my option and argued that it would not be achievable I countered that with providing a bit more info on the kind of overclock I’m talking about.

I'm sorry but you cannot accuse me of arguing with you when all I have done is state another idea and then to defend that idea after you attacked my idea.

I have run the game at stock setting, a mild overclock that would be similar to yours and at my current overclock. At my current overclock (1150mhz) I have achieved mine and the OP's goal to play at ultra with a minimum of 60pfs.
So feel free to test it at my settings.

I have a GTX670 running at 1080P and I get a solid 70-100 FPS.

I recommend the Gigabyte one as it has great cooling and a slight factory overclock. That is what I am using.

All graphics settings are on Ultra.

I play mostly 64 player and even on the largest maps I am yet to drop below 60 FPS.

But motion blur will put you at something of a disadvantage simply because it exacerbates your eyes' natural blind spots. It might look cool but trust me man you really don't want it turned on

Sorry for the off topic post just had to throw that out there :pt1cable:

But it looks so cool! 🙁
