Will This setup work for Planetside 2?

I have my setup right now which is:
i3 3220
Powercolor Radeon HD 4870
and 8GB of ram.
I wanna upgrade to an R9 280x
Will it be enough to run Planetside 2 on Ultra with 40+ FPS?

I think your CPU is going to be the bottleneck here. If i remember right planetside 2 takes as much CPU power as it does GPU power.

Planetside website recommends a Intel i5 processor or higher / AMD Phenom II X6 or higher. And I think it would take more for ultra.

I bet that it would run better but not ultra.
