will this upgrade work(PRETTY OLD ALL IN ONE)

nope:

HP MB limit : TDP: up to 65W
Your CPU pick : Wattage: 100

Your MB supports : Dual-Core A4-5xxx, Dual-Core A6-5xxx, Dual-Core A6-5xxxK, Quad-Core A8-5xxx
Your processor pick : AMD A10-Series. A10 is not an A4, A6 or A8.

All in ones are also a bear to update. See if you can find a video. could be 30 screws.

Also, before your friend upgrades, try to find what they do with the all-in-one. They might need memory or video or a faster disk or something other than a CPU swap.

From the specs I think this is the strongest CPU that will work, but I did not look hard, and I'm not sure it will work. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113288 AMD A8-5500 Trinity Quad-Core 3.2GHz (3.7GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 65W Desktop APU

Heres a compare with your friends existing CPU:
http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/141/AMD_A4-Series_A4-5300_vs_AMD_A8-Series_A8-5500.html

Depending on how tight things are in the all-in-one you may need to reuse the heatsink from the A4 or buy an aftermarket heatsink if the A4 heatsink can't handle the A8 heat load. (they are both rated at 65W, however the A8 will in the real world throw more heat given same technology and A8 has twice as many cores running at higher frequency).

i try and budget
