[SOLVED] Will this Viper M.2 NVMe fit my ASUS Tuf motherboard?

I just bought two new components for a new rig:
  • ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS Wifi
  • VIPER VPN100 1tb NVMe SSD

However after looking at pictures of the board and where the ssd would go, I'm wondering if I can expect it to fit/work? The Viper SSD has a big heatspreader stuck on top and it looks shorter than the bottom M.2 slot with a heatspeader screwed onto the board. Would I just expect to screw off the heatspreader on the board and stick the Viper SSD in it's place?

I'm totally new to NVMe's so I don't really have a feel for fitting one previously. Also, I didn't realise until now that mobo's release a list of supported drives, but it's a very short list and nowhere near comprehensive so I'm guessing that doesn't mean it won't work.

I'm contemplating returning the unopened Viper NVMe and getting an Adata one that's on the Mobo QVL list. Would that be a smarter idea than just hoping this one works?

Sorry if the question isn't worded properly or I'm missing info. Any advice would be massively appreciated.
