Will this work with the i5-4460?

I'm deciding on getting a i5-4460 with a Hyper 212 Evo for the cooler and a ASRock Z97 Extreme4 motherboard. I just want to know if there is any better motherboards that will be more suitable for the cpu. Thank you!

If you don't plan on getting either the i5 4690k or i7 4790k and don't plan on going with SLI or crossfire, then I'd go with a H97 motherboard and use the money saved to get a better GPU instead as you don't need a z97 motherboard unless you plan on using a CPU which overclocks or you need SLI or crossfire.

Also, unless you are using the CPU for very heavy workloads there is no need to buy the 212 EVO as the stock cooler will do a decent enough job

The Rock mobo will be fine and allow for upgrading into the future
