Yes but for lot cheaper 2 x GTX980Ti has better performance/money.

Overclocking the GFX cards ? If using Afterburner or an equivalent, the 980 Ti actually outperforms the Titan X.

As for the MoBo, board owners seem to be increasingly dissatisfied with the Hero as time goes on. Part of that is due to the fact that it is about 50% more expensive than comparable boards from Gigabyte and MSI.

With X97, the Asus Z97 RoG boards stood out as relatively poor gaming performers next to MSI / Gigabyte, but Asus seems to have returned to form Z170 .... all Z1170 boards seem to be performing with 1 - 2 % of one another.
