Intel xeon 1231v3 with b85m-gamer ASUS

Im trying to save as many bucks as possible thats why i went with b85 not h97!

Also is there any cheaper motherboard for 1231v3 wich wont fail on me?

Am i going to lose performance beacuse b85 and not h97?

Im planning to buy r9 290x also, will it work?
