Will two GTX 780's in SLI run 4K?

Hey everyone I recently purchased a 4k monitor for my photography and video editing which runs quite smoothly. But I have found I can really only run most games at 20-30fps at medium/high graphic settings. I was wondering if I were to get another GTX 780 and run it in SLI would I be able to run 4k at a decent framerate on high graphics settings? Another thing is would I have to get the exact same 780 and brand as the one I have? I will also list my PC specs below;

Intel Core i7-4930K (Not overclocked)
32GB of RAM
Asus SABERTOOTH X79 motherboard
Nvidia GTX 780 x1

Thanks for everyone's help in advance!

Yes another 780 would help performance, unless the issue is that you are running out of vram (quite likely). In that case, you will need a card with more vram. Do you know how much vram you are using in games? and if you do decide to get another 780, it has to be the same amount of vram, and im not 100% sure about the same brand, but it does not have to be 100% identical.

GTA V for example at high settings used all of the VRAM up that being 3GB, but I could get it down to 2.4GB at decent settings but it still ran at around 20-30fps.

Well then, aslong as the vram usage is under 3gb then adding another 780 will increase performance, but not double.

Cools, but would you say it would be more beneficial to buy a card that will run 4K more smoothly in general like the GTX 980ti or would it be better to go for the SLI option which would be the cheaper option?

Yeah I might do it just depends how much a 780 second hand sell for, plus the 980ti's new are around $1k which is pretty expensive. Would you think just a normal 980 and not the TI would run 4k decently? Because I wouldn't mind spending $600-700 but I think $1k is a bit out of my budget even if I sold the 780.

Where do you live? in the usa, a 980Ti is $650

In Australia it's like $1k from a quick google search I might be able to get it a little cheaper but not sure how much for.

Yeah I would go for AMD, but the only problem is I need a Nvidia card to run Davinci Resolve for colour grading which I use a lot. It runs really bad with AMD cards and sometimes not at all.

Ah, i see. then i guess it depends. If you think its worth buying another 780, and you dont mind having settings down to stay within the 3gb limit. Or if you can sell the 780 for a good amount, then you could get a 980, although the performance increase would not be all that much.

Damn really limits the choices, maybe I might just have to save up for a bit extra to get the 980ti and sell the 780 since its purely for gaming but thanks heaps for your help its made me think twice about going straight for the second 780 instead. I don't really need it until the end of the year when all the amazing games are coming out, Fallout 4 and Battlefront in 4k is a must!

One last thing I currently have a 750W power supply if I get the 980ti would I need to get a bigger one?

All good what about the power supply though do you think 750 watts will be enough if I am swapping out the 780 with the 980ti?
