Question Will upgrading my RX 580 4GB to RX 6900 XT help much?

I have i5-2500, and I also have the new RX 6900 XT, but will upgrading to it help much? Or it will be bottlenecked?

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

I'd be very concerned about the age of the PSU, apart from it's make and model...if you were looking into a GPU upgrade, not to mention that the card would be best put into a concurrent system as opposed to something from 2011.

What will the presumed upgrade path be necessary for? Gaming?

Check out the psu for sure. I think the 2500 will hold you back a bit. If you have adequate cooling, a quick look at eBay says that here in the USA at least, you can pick up an older i7 2700k for about $40 US or a little under. So something like that could be a stop gap until you can do a full platform upgrade.

Yes your CPU will hold you back, but the upgrade will still be massive, and the GPU can be reused when you finally upgrade the rest of the system.
