Question Will using a VPN hide app usage from employer using a UniFi system?

Hi everyone

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread I have no idea about this sort of thing.

Work has just installed a new Unifi system for the internet and it can track everything that connects to the WiFi and can track in depth what each user is doing, for example is someone is using an iPhone or an android it can distinguish whose on Facebook, whose on Twitter and for how long etc,

Would express VPN or something stop this? If so would it be detectable? Again I have absolutely ZERO idea I’ve tried looking online and I can’t see answer to the question above it just mentions websites you visit which isn’t really what I’m after

I would advise against trying to do an end run around your employer's security as you will find yourself unemployed rather quickly. In addition, our rules prohibit such discussion. Do not post this here again.
