Will Using another 6 pin connector cause any damage?

i have a GTX 650 ti from EVGA and it came with a 6 pin power connector that is connected to 2 of those 4 pin connectors used to power IDE hard drives. I have a huge IDE that i use for storage but my PSU only comes with 2 of those ends. if i use them for the GPU i cant power the HDD. Now i have another 6 pin connector that is connected to only one of those 4 pin ends, it powers the card, i can game and everything but i keep wondering if it will do anything bad in the end. please help me out

Depends on the PSU, if your PSU is below 400W, then most likely it will damage it.

You might be over the amperage limit for the 4-pin connector if it's Molex type.

You need a power supply with the correct connections , don't use adapters.

True, but you can sometimes safely get the amperage you need from a power supply without the connectors you need, as long as you check the amperage on all of the connectors. Like if his only has two Molex connectors then it probably isn't rated for that high of an amperage on those connections.

If the PSU doesn't have the proper connections , it shouldn't be running your card on any build.

It's a 600w Star (whoever they are) PSU. It Seems to do the job, been running my PC with the GPU for about 3 weeks sometimes 48+ hours constantly. and yes it only hsa 2 molex connectors. The PSU says it gets 15A on 115 and 7A on 220.
its switched 115 at the moment. I plan to upgrade my PC in the following months and in the end i plan to use a silverstone 450w SFX PSU. I'm making a Small ITX Gaming rig. I wont be able to buy the PSU until maybe Late April or May. Will I be safe till then and if so should i use the pin adapter with the 2 molex ends to 6 pin or the single molex to 6 pin.
