Will using MSI Afterburner ruin the fans' lifespan?

I am planning to do custom fan curve profile on my games. My rig is 980GTX SLI Acx EVGA and when playing Assassins Creed Unity on default fan curve, GPU1 hits 80 to 85 and GPU 2 hits 68 degrees. Upon customizing my fan curves, my fan speed is 75 at 70 degrees and 100 at 80 degrees thus making GPU 1 less than 80 degrees. If I keep that profile playing games 3 to 4 hours a day, will it ruin the fans' lifespan?

Solution

Unknown. No one really test the gpu fans for reliability. It will be fine. Just don't worry how long the fans will last. By 3 years time, there will be better gpu and upgrading will be the more ideal choice then replacing the gpu fans.
Assuming it is linear with no hysteresis, it will rise 2.5% per degree C (25% of fan speed over 10C)

Now you can figure 78 - 70 = 8*C

8*2.5 = 20% above 75%

The fan should run at 95% at 78*C

Faster fan speed will reduce their life span, but higher temps will reduce the whole GPUs lifespan.
It seems like a fair trade to crank up the fan speed.

If I keep on doing that fan curve profile, how long will the fans last? 3 years minimum?
