[SOLVED] Will work Geforce FX 5600(256MB) on FHD monitor?

Solution
thanks for your response.

I will buy the new monitor I mentioned above
but I'm thinking, with such an old graphics card, there will be no limited features,
that I would not have with the new graphics cards?
(not in games of course, since I do not play at all)

No it'll work fine, it's a far better monitor than your old Samsung.

I still don't understand why you wouldn't run it at 1080p, it just makes sense, even if you scale text to 150% which will make your icons and text etc the same size as at 720p.

Everything else will be so much sharper that way.
Says it supports 75htz at 1024 x 768 and 1920 x 1080.

Supports all other resolution modes at 60 htz.

Using 1024 x 768 on it makes no sense though, a 4:3 aspect ratio resolution on a 16:9 aspect screen either gives black borders left and right or a stretched screen which will look odd.

You would be better running at 1280 x 720 60htz on it.

Its compatible though irregardless.

Sorry i'm new on this forum and not very experienced on resolutions

At 1280 x 720 why the new monitor will not running at 75htz but at 60htz?

[my old monitor SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER T190

https://www.newegg.com/samsung-t190-19-wxga/p/N82E16824001274

running at 1280 x 720 at 75htz perfectly
(i'm not play games at all)
and plays HD videos perfectly with FX 5600(256MB)
]

Thats what the spec sheet states for the monitor, doesn't mean it won't do 720p 75htz it may well do.

Just run it at 1080p 75htz if that's the case, it's really not a worry at all.
