Will XFX GeForce 9800 GT Video Card work with Intel Pentium E5400 cpu

You can download CPU-Z and run it, click the Main board tab and tell us the manufacturer and model number.

For the power supply, open your computer up and look at it, it should have a sticker that is similar to this on one side.

Tell us what the "total power" or "total output" is as well as manufacturer and/or model number.

And even if you did build it yourself, if you made a poor choice, you may still need a new PSU.

mobo: manufacturer Dell. model: 0N826N. Chipset: intel P35/G33/G31. southbrigde: intel 82801IR (ICH9R). LPCIO: ITE IT8718. i opened up my rig to find out the psu and couldnt find that sticker

Based on the motherboard, i'm guessing your running an Inspiron 545. Dell's website states the installed PSU is a 300Watt. I think if you are able to bump that up to a 600+. You should be able to run that 9800GT. Also, check with your motherboard too about disabling the on-board video GMA (Piece of Crap) adapter. Some require a BIOS setting, jumper or just the existance of a video board in the PCI 16x slot will do it...

Good Luck

(If Intel can make an awesome processor, why can't they make a half decent video card!?!?!?!?!?!)

if u mean bump the PSU up to a 600watt then im sure thats wrong. he will only need like a 500watt.(correct me if im wrong). i have a XFX 4890(uses way more power than a 9800) and a 520watt PSU and it runs fine. 😗

just wondering here, how sure are you?
