Win 10 update always messes up my sleep mode

Hi all, I really dread Windows 10 updates. I did the latest one a couple days ago and, as always, it disabled the automatic sleep mode. No matter where you set it, it keep running. The monitors turn off but not the internal processes.

I ran a diagnostic and found these three drivers were to blame. I'm not sure about the Conexant driver but the AMD high def audio is coming off the video card and the media player gets used sometimes too.

Does anyone know how to pimp-slap these things into line? Thanks, sh

*Go to the bottom first to disable in Device Manager.

Try reinstalling the AMD drivers and if possible do a custom install and do NOT select the audio installation (I can do that for NVidia).

1. run DDU to remove video drivers http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
2. reinstall latest AMD (custom)

WMPlayer doesn't ever cause me issues so it may be just tied into the AMD or Conexant audio issue.

Conexant?
Is this a laptop?

Did you find the driver or just let W10 install one?

OTHER:
Try going into DEVICE MANAGER and "Disable Device" starting with anything that says Conexant. Then just manually start a SLEEP MODE (right-click Start..).

That should hopefully point you to the driver that's causing issues.

Thanks folks. Results have been mixed and I couldn't tell you why. It took this long to get back to you because I'd leave the computer on, go to work and come back to discover whether things worked or not. I deleted the Conexant driver (this is a desktop) and reinstalled the AMD driver. I also tried this solution from an earlier Tom's post:

What happens is that sometimes the computer goes into sleep mode and sometimes not -- maybe 50% of the time. It is more likely to do it when there are no programs running and/or when none of the other computers on the ethernet network are on (which is rare). They aren't setup to share much information but they are all hard-wired to the same router. BTW, the manual sleep command works fine.

This happened before with a Win 10 update. I just reversed it back to a previous version that time. But there comes a point when I don't want to get too far behind. I left my office desktop on Win 7 and it never gives me trouble. I hope future iterations of the operating system concentrate less on talking to people I don't know and more on doing what they're told.

I'll keep fiddling with it. Please keep ideas coming in and if I find a silver bullet, I'll be sure to post it. Thanks, as always, sh
