win 98 power management

I have my settings at 1hr to turn off monitor
and hard drives,but it seems like the drives,
both hard drives and cd, power down after only
a few minutes.The monitor is the only one that
waits the full hour to power down. Is there some
place else to manage power? Appreciate any help.

I've generally found that Windows' power management settings seem to make no difference in what the computer actually follows. I will set it to never power down anything, but it will still power things down after an hour or so.

The real place it makes a difference is in the BIOS. Most BIOS's will generally have places where you set how long before it has the hard drives and everything spin down.
