Win & LAN icon

Hi,

When my computer has just booted up and logged on, the LAN icon down the botton right hand corner, has the red cross on on to say no connection, after waiting about 1 - 2 minutes it will say there is a connection after having the blue win 7 loading icon on it.
When it does finally connect instead of saying Network99 (name of my connection) it say Network. Internet access. i have changed the name of My connection but it still just says Network.

Can anyone help me with this?

I just changed my network name for testing purposes and it worked including the LAN icon.

Go to the network section of your control panel and see how many active networks there are. Also what the name of the networks are.

Also update your LAN drivers if you haven't already.

I currently have one active network: Network (home network)

I cant yet update my LAN drivers because i can get on the asus website at the minute for some reason.

That Network there can be easily renamed by clicking on the icon to the left of it, that's how I did it. Rename it to what you want and it should work.

Does anyone know anytihng about the issue where when i logg on the LAN icon has the RED CROSS over it and i have to wait about 2 minutes for it to realise its connected
