Win xp on high end pc?

Hello guys, i am testing something and i want to know if windows xp will install on high end computer:
Amd FX-8350
Ram 16GB 1866MHz
Xfx Radeon R9 280 Double D 3GB
1TB Seagate SSHD
Is win xp too old to install? im just curious heheh..

It'll install and run, but drivers may be an issue (unless you're not planning to actually use the computer for an extended period of time).

Win xp is 32 bit..... so good luck using the 3 gb RAM which it recognizes. 😀

64 bit OS is required to utilize all that (16gb) RAM, like win7/8.1(64-bit).

xp 64 isnt a good choice, it has poor software compatabiliy with 32bit and 16bit installers. better with win 7 64 or later.
xp 32bit aint good either as pointed out its limited to 4gig (including gfx ram) total.

I am not saying there is but what are the chance that he will land a 64 bit one?
Couple that with mediocre driver support I think we all can agree that win xp x64 isn't such a good idea after all.

calm down i wont be using it i will just test something on 32bit win xp. my main os is win 7 ultimate 64bit tho.. thanks anyway guys!

Same question for me.

Of course XP 32 bit version can't make maximal use of the modern hardware devellopment. However new OS's can't use XP software and XP hardware. The latter is more important for me. I have a keyboard, dac, audio interface, printer, microscope etc... All XP based hardware! Also I have software that is XP based and that I am used to. Besides some modern software, I still use the XP hard- and software.

Because I want to make a newbuild with similar specs as "white death", I started to wonder whetter I 'll be abe to use all my hardware and software in the future. The Gigabyte motherboard website states "no windows XP/ windows7 support". What does this mean? It looks like there's no windows XP/ windows 7 driver for the motherboard chip. Probably Windows XP won't even install.

In that case I'd better stay with my present hardware and software.

It will install, you just won't have all the functionality of the motherboard because there are no drivers for the hardware - meaning there's no way for Windows to communicate with the hardware
