does win2k have an equivelent to the ms config proggie you can run to configure the startup? Where can I find it?

theres a 3rd party tool out and about to give 2k an msconfig, I've heard it mentioned a few times here, Im sure someone will post it soon

msconfig is available for W2K, because I downloaded it from the web, but can't remember from where.
However, could always email it if forum rules allow. It is only 65K zipped. I installed it as a shortcut in programs/accessories/system tools and works just fine.

You can also use the msconfig.exe from Windows 98SE. Just place "msconfig.exe" in the WINNT\system32 directory and then open the run box and type "msconfig" w/o the quotes.
Hope that helps.

The msconfig from 98 doesn't work as well as the one from XP on windows 2000...

Yeah I'm running the 98SE Msconfig on my Win2k system. Only use it for controling the progs at startup, does the job.

This is probably the single best reg util for windows (that I've ever used). Go check it out, it's great even if all you only want to use it for a substitution to msconfig.
