HELP!!! My computer has been down for almost 1 week... When I start my computer, everything goes well until the black screen with the "Starting Windows 2000" bar starts to fill. It gets 1/4 of the way then just freezes! Please help, all my school crap is on there!

One way to mabe get out of it would to reinstall win2k and chouse repair? I never had this problem but it couldnt hurt and you wont loose any skool stuff..

I think you could save your school stuff if you restart in safe mode, disable any unessential hardware, such as network controllers, sound cards, modems...

Then restart and Windows should boot properly, then backup whatever you need.

Your crash may be caused by enabling DMA mode, so disable it and then you can enable again your disabled devices.
