Win2k vs Gforce!!!

I need some serious win2k experts here. First let me explain the problem
then i'll give you my system specs.
I dual boot Win ME and Win 2000 pro..I prefer win2k as it's more stable and
OpenGL is a tad faster(I play quake2 mainly :)). My problem is simple but I
can't for the life of me figure out why it's happening. On my Win ME drive I
use detonator frivers 6.31 and use Coolbits to overclock my core and memory.
It works great and same settings are applied at startup. I have same (win2k)
detonator drivers 6.31 and coolbits on my win2k drive and it WILL allow me
to overclock but when I reboot the settings are restored to the default.
This means that every time I reboot I have to reoverclock and this is
becoming a hassle. Is this a NTFS security issue? are there any workarounds
or system settings I can try to overcome this? any suggestions or help in
general would be greatly appreciated. Here are my system specs.
Abit BX6 rev 2 Motherboard
Celeron ppga 366 OC @ 550
Maxtor 20 g hd
Seagate 4.3 g hd
Geforce 2 GTS/Pro 64 meg DDR
Monster sound MX300 sc (using Vortex 2048 drivers)

I will check back often and again thx for any responses.
p.s. btw I have tried all det drivers and am logged on as administrator...

Hey Vid,
I dont know if I am a Win2K expert, but, maybe pretty close. I play Q also, use Win2K also, and have a GTS DDR also. One thing I can suggest is that, a 366 Celeron isnt the best thing to try and overclock. Second, your system is really imbalanced by having so much video power and so little processor power. Maybe its time for a PIII 933 and a new mobo?? I cant directly suggest a solution for your overclocking software. If you are not on a network, LAN, or if you dont REALLY need security, try reformatting with FAT32. It may work a little better for you application. Good luck.

Get the registry hack for the NVidia drivers. Update to the 6.34 version and after they are installed, run the registry hack. This will allow overclocking right from within the NVidia drivers. They will apply every time you start is you check the box to apply on startup, but it applies only after you login to Win2k, this way it ensures a clean boot without an overclocked card. I have a GTS DDR with this setup and it works fine. Within the drivers go to additional properties, then Hardware Options and you will find the speed settings.
