Win95 Compatible ?

Basically, it will run on many even newer machines of 2.0+ GHz, if patched correctly.
But the essential question (tm) with W9x is always: Do you have drivers?
The first place to consult therefore is not Toms hardware, but the manufacturers hompage of the hardware of yours.
If you have trouble locating those, and you ask kindly, we will of course assist you.

Thank you for that offer. I had an old 400Mhz Emachine computer that ran 95 perfectly but I no longer have that computer but I kept the hard drive that 95 is set up on. I've been told the P4 is not compatible with 95 so I'm going to look around for a P3.

Whoever told you that, is wrong.
Look at this list, starting at the second mail, look for machines of rloew (Rudolph Loew):

Like RLoew (8) and RLoew (2).

Yessir. We have like an inofficial competition running... 🙂
The most modern and powerful stuff (that actually can run games) is boards with an AMD 970A chipset, an AMD FX 8350, a Gigabit PCIe NIC, and SATA-SSDs of max. 120GB (limit of FAT32). With commercial Patches, 3.5 GB of Ram, and even bigger HDDs are possible on W98SE.
Sound and Graphics are locked to Soundblaster Audigy 2 PCI and NVidia GeForce 7900 GTX PCIe as the most modern parts.

As you know, Win98se is limited to 512mb RAM. You can work around that by using the unofficial "service pack". I have found it to be very glitchy with some drivers so tend to steer away.

[edit]
If you go service pack route be sure to back up your system files first so you can easily revert back to original Win98se in DOS mode without having to do complete reinstall.

@Susquehannock:
There is some hardware, that shows problems with more than 512MB, so using 512MB definitely is the "safe bet".
I have one board - MSI 970A SLI Krait - on which W98SE does not like more than 512MB out-of-the-box.
On all my other PCs with W98SE (i have 9), 1GB is always stable, and on most of them 1.5GB runs like a charm.
So it depends.
Microsoft officially itself stated on MSDN "everything beyond 1.5GB will make the system instable [on W98SE]".
Unfortunetely, for my 970A, you cannot buy anything smaller than 1GB, so some effort is needed.
There is a trick called "Ushers Method", that makes W98SE "blind" to any amount of memory above 1GB, and it does not involve any Service Pack (though it does involve a small but significant patch), but rather three files, and a bit of configuration.
I use it on all my "new" hardware, so i can dual-boot to XP Pro and W10 home 64bit with (usually) 16GB of Ram.
Ushers method is used for eight years now by W98SE-fans, and has no known negative side-effects.
I'll post an instruction later in a separate thread.

My dad gave me his old 1998 Comp USA computer which has a Pentium Pro cpu which is a 686 processor that runs from 150 to 200 MHz. I put Win95 on it and it runs good. I just need the right graphics card for this cpu, anyone know?

pretty much anything that works with 95 and fits in a pci, isa, or agp slot (whichever your computer may have)

Yes. Discover your slot type, then go from there.

I have 3 PCI slots and 2 ISA slots. I already ordered a Sound Blaster 16 for an ISA slot but the programs, games and graphics card are going to have to be matched to the CPU and it's speed. I know the Pentium Pro was right about the time 3DFX came out so I'll probably look for a graphics card with that technology. I think it was the Voodoo 3, Banshee and others. I checked ebay for some of those and they are pretty expensive so I'll have to wait till I have the money for that. Just looking to see if there are any people who know stuff about this that I don't know.

Interest in retro PC hardware has risen considerably the last couple years. And 3dfx card prices have gone through the roof! Voodoo 5 regularly sell for over $200 these days. I still have a Voodoo 4 from the old days and got it running again recently. Let me know if you need drivers and I'll post some links.

That is true, I have used an FX5200 256mb card before successfully with Win 95. I wonder if the 3DFX games would work with that?

I found out the 3DFX games will not work with the FX5200 graphics card. It has to have a card with 3DFX technology which are cards from that era like the Voodoo cards, the Banshee and others.
