hi
so im trying to figure out which windows 7 professional version is best for me 64 or 32 bit. as far as i have read, 64 bit can not run 16 bit games , but does that also count when it is in xp mode? and what about 32 bit games , can 64 bit run them without being in xp mode? i have 4gb of ram so i would get most ram out of 64 bit, but will those 0,8 of ram really make any noticeable diffrence in games?

also what is the diffenre betwenn a full version of windows 7 vs a oem version?

Hey,

1st question: It's always recommended to use it at 64-bit (Newegg.com etc. etc.)

2nd question: It will not make a difference in games.

3th question: OEM copies cannot be transferred from one PC to another. Once you install an OEM copy of Windows 7 on a PC it must remain with that PC forever, unless upgraded to a newer version of Windows in the future. Retail versions can be moved from PC to PC, but your retail copy of Windows 7 cannot be installed on more than one PC at any given time.

Hope it helped, go with the 64-bit version, you will not regret it!

Don't forget to choose as best answer. :)

ok thanks for the answer, i will buy 64 bit then

First I want to say Windows 7 64 is the future, but so is Windows 8. Both are very fine operating systems for what they were designed to do - to meet future requirements. Having said that, if you want maximum compatibility with the least amount of head-aches running MOST of the games, stay on Window 7 32 bit (speaking from a retro game perspective). I know everyone is pushing the 64bit OS (and MS is pushing Win8) and there is NOTHING wrong with that, but after I upgraded to 64bit - I lost compatibility to about 30% of my gaming library. Yes, some are old (ranging from 1998 all the way up to 2009) but these all ran fine on my 32 bit Windows 7. So if you want the latest, greatest, beautiful, mind blowing - memory/resource hogs then 64 bit. If you want to maximize compatibility with older games and get a taste of the new stuff, then 32 bit. There are far more 32-bit compatible games so your chances of success is greater on the Windows 7 32-bit platform.
