Question Windows 10 and an old system

I have an old system with a motherboard model GA-EP45-UD3L. It has 8GB of RAM and a Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz CPU. Can I install Windows 10 on this system?

Know that Win 10 falls off support from MS in a couple of months.

Did you notice any specific problems?

Windows 10 will struggle on 2core/2thread system.
2core/4thread cpu is probably minimum for a comfortable use.

Make sure, you have windows installed on SSD.
On a mechanical HDD windows experience will be terrible.

Performance will suck. But, not a lot worse than a previous Win 7 or 8.

Did you notice any specific problems?

If you disable transparency effects in file explorer (Settings - Personalization - Colors), it should be a bit smoother experience on low-end CPU.

My experience has been that (nearly) anything that would run W7 would also run W10.

For sure, considerations need to be made regarding system RAM, shared graphics, as well as the graphical effects ("Aero") used on desktop and folder options. You should also go into Background Apps and turn nearly everything off, in System, in Startup Apps....in truth it has been a minute but you can cut W10 down pretty well.

Yep, should be fine for general web surfing. Id ask you to consider a light weight linux distro since youre using older hardware, and windows 10 is EOL in a couple of months. But physically the hardware should run it fine, especially if you are using an SSD.
