So I recently upgraded my pc.

Specs:
CPU: Intel i5 6400
Mobo: Gigabyte gaz170xp-sli
Ram: 8gb DDR4 Corsair
GPU: Gigabyte gtx960 OC gaming edition (4gb)
storage: 246gb SSD

For the life of me, win10 wouldn't install when the SSD was in the in desktop. I ended up installing win10 on my laptop and transferring the SSD over.

So I can boot into windows but at random times the whole thing will freeze.

It has frozen at these times in particular:
As soon as I get to my desktop
In file explorer
In Chrome, doing browsing.
Installing programs.

I am completely stumped as to what the heck is going on! II have downloaded some drivers, but it's really hard for me to install the rest (Currently I have the chipset & lan drivers installed).

Haaaaalp!

swapping the ssd from laptop to desktop is probably reason you getting teh freezes. Lets see if we can get USB booting in PC and then you best reinstalling win 10 on right hardware.

in your bios, in the BIOS Features Tab, in boot priorities, is there a UEFI USB option? If so, make that first (Might have to have USB stick in PC for it to offer the option)
on same tab should be USB Support, change this to Full initial

when you installed win 10 on laptop... what serial number did you put in? did you let it activate as if Win 10 isn't a retail copy, that could be a problem. Is win 10 showing as activated in all settings/update & security/activation?
