I have never had this issue with windows 10 or any OS before. It started while I was playing a game in full screen and alt tabbed out. When I alt tabbed out I wasn't able to click on any of my desktop icons or any application open on my second monitor like discord and chrome, but weirdly I can only click on icons on my task bar. So I restarted my pc to see if it fixed. It was good for like 5 minutes then all of a sudden now I can only click on my icons on my desktop and my taskbar was now unresponsive. So I ran SFC and DISM and updated drivers, updated windows, and updated my mouse & keyboard drivers (Both Razer). I restarted again it was working for a couple of minutes and while I was on google looking up fixed now I can only click on chrome and both my desktop and taskbar were unresponsive. I came to the conclusion that maybe my windows files were corrupted or it was some type of malware. So I restored to a point a week ago and it was working for a while then so I turned off automatic updates just in case and shortly after updating some apps and restarting the pc for some reason windows began an update and the issue came back I couldn't click anything. I was so annoyed I just clean reinstalled windows 10. After reinstalling while I was downloading all my apps again the problem happened again I couldn't click any apps on my desktop and only my task bar. I have found a temporary solution witch is holding CTRL-ALT-DELETE that pops up the switch user menu then pressing cancel. This fixes it for a short time but the issue keeps appearing again. Now I convinced maybe it's a bug on Windows part with one of the latest updates they released. Or its a problem with my razer keyboard and mouse I have a Huntsman Mini and a Razer Viper V2 Pro. If anyone has a solution please help I have never had this problem.

I have a razer viper mini I've tried to use after restarting and it still has the same issue.

Two immediate ideas:

1) Process Explorer

Take a closer look at what the system is doing or not doing when the problem occurs.

Use Process Explorer (Microsoft, free) to look at what is happening and what changes take place when the behavior comes and goes.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer

Download via Microsoft.

Launch the tool and open the Window so you can observe both the Desktop, apps, etc. as normal while still being able to watch Process Explorer. Two monitors may make it easier if you have two monitors.

In any case it may take some trial and effort (with keyboard and mouse not being fully functional) to be able to work out a method to keep a constant watch.

What you...
Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

= = = =

Is it possible to try other known working keyboards and mice on the PC?

Or try the current Razor devices on anotherr known working PC.

Determine if th problems follow the keyboard and mouse or stay with the computer.

Look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for error codes, warnings, and even informational events that may have been captured with respect to the times and circumstances describled.

Reliablitity History is much more end user friendly so start there.

Event Viewer requires more time and effort to navigate and understand.

To help with Event Viewer:

Also look in Update history for any failed or problem updates.

As an immediate thought I suspect power supply problems - may be just a loose power connection somewhere versus a PSU problem per se.

Something else that can be done:

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris.

Verify by sight and feel that all connectors, cards, RAM, jumpers, and case connections are fully and firmly in place.

Use a bright flashlight to inspect for signs of damage.

If you are not comfortable opening the case then find a knowledgeable family member or friend to help.

Still having issue after trying all these. My hardware is fine and theres no performance issue. It just keeps happening my mouse and keyboard is only responsive to 1 application/proccess then I have to CTRL+Alt+Delete to fix it for a couple of minutes then it comes back.

What you are looking for are processes that appear or disappear (or change in some manner) when the mouse and keyboard are only responsive to one app.

2) Task Scheduler

Another place to look for potential problems is Task Scheduler. If responsiveness is lost after just a couple of minutes then there may be some trigger involved. Something launches, begins running, and continues to do so until you end it via CRTL+Alt+Delete.

Then after 2 minutes the trigger causes all to begin again.

If possible leave Process Explorer visible while checking Task Scheduler.

In any case, take your time, watch carefully. Especially for anything that happens with some reference to keyboard and/or mouse.....
