Hi guys

I'm at my wits end with my windows 10 PC (asus vivopc X). For the past few weeks, after about 30 minutes, the internet stops working, save for google.com and youtube. The PC says it's connected to the internet, but all browsers and applications can't get a proper connection, just saying 'establishing secure connection'. This happens on wifi and ethernet. I have tried changing the DNS settings to Google and then OpenDNS, using the release/renew/flush cmd ip and dns commands, disabling proxy auto-discovery, repairing corrupt system files, doing a network settings reset, repairing windows update, and doing a system restore. Nothing works. The only way to temporarily fix the problem is to reboot, which lets it work for about another half an hour. Disconnecting/reconnecting, disabling/enabling the adaptors, disabling my firewall software, and installing new driver software hasn't helped either. I'm assuming it is a software issue otherwise it wouldn't be able to load youtube and google. Also, when I am using Spotify when the internet goes, it continues to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I've only had the computer a month so I may do a system reset. I already saw the Tom's hardware link you gave me, and I tried contacting Microsoft support but they didn't have an answer besides doing a system restore and repairing network and Windows update settings which I did. I am right in thinking that this issue is totally software-based, right?

Its probably only software, and a very oddly selective bug

try booting into safe mode with networking and see if it happens there, that would tell you if its software or not
go to settings/update & security/recovery
under advanced startup, click Restart now
this loads into a blue menu
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up options
hit the restart button
choose a safe mode with networking by using number associated with it.
PC will restart and load safe mode

see if you can get to other web sites.

I did a full reset, and that seems to have done the trick, the pc has now not lost connection and it's been about 6 hours, when usually it would lose it after 30 mins. I think the problem was AOL desktop, when I looked back at the system logs the problems started just after it was installed on my PC. Even after uninstall the program still had files and registry entries everywhere, I would warn against downloading it! Thanks for your help guys.
