My system is listed at https://pcpartpicker.com/user/andy_werber/saved/#view=tQBmD3.

I had trouble shutting the computer down a few months ago. After waiting hours for it to shut down, I pulled the plug. I plugged it back in and it booted up just fine.

I did a few shut downs that went fine followed by successful reboots.

Two days ago, the computer was acting weird - the toolbar showed that iTunes was open, but when I clicked on it on the toolbar, it did not open. I also had clicked on the recycle bin, and got an hourglass that just stayed there for at least a few minutes.

So, I tried to do a shut down. The screen went blue and stayed that way for about an hour. So I pulled the plug again. This time, the computer is not rebooting.

I've tried several suggestions to fix the problem that I've seen online, but nothing works. I have the original OEM disk that I used to install Windows 10 on the computer. When I boot off that disk, I get as 'far' as getting a blue screen where I can move the mouse cursor around (as compared to previous attempts to fix things, where all I got was a black screen).

Please help. I'm fine with doing a complete reinstall or whatever it takes. Also, I don't need to find the cheapest possible solution.

I would appreciate any help.

You might want to recreate your bootable USB installer using Windows Media Creation Tools, then try and see if you can repair the OS although if you're going to reinstall the OS. make sure you've disconnected the 8TB HDD in your build, so the OS install doesn't run into hiccups.

How old is the PSU in your build? Might be a good idea to see if your motherboard is pending any BIOS updates.

Thanks for the reply. Good point about the 8 TB drive, I remember Windows tried to make an X: drive on that drive. I'm going to bring the computer into a shop, because I don't have a lot of experience building or repairing systems.
