Hi,

I recently reset my computer and wanted to reinstall Windows 10. In doing so I have encountered a problem, Windows 10 continually loops after "just a moment screen".

Now the setup procedure gets stuck on a restart loop.
First, the "Let's get connected" screen shows up. I select the relevant wifi network.
Second, the "Get going fast" screen comes up. I select "Use express settings".
Finally, the circling dots screen comes up with "Just a moment..." and then it restarts.

Is there any way to fix this installation?

Thanks

Solution

So you can't run an install disk/install USB? You should be able to.
Probably not, do a fresh install. Though if its a regular mechanical harddrive in the computer there might be a problem with it.
So don't trust it with data until you run CrystalDisk, HDDScan and see how long it takes to read data off of sectors.

I cannot actually access any of the computer, only the boot menu etc

I don't have either is the problem as I got the free upgrade to Windows 10, do I need to purchase another copy of Windows 10?

It goes back to the same menu where I have to select all the same options again .

Honestly sometimes it glitches out, select the same options and try again.
I've had it do it to me 3 times in a row.

Though you can create your own Media using https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Just need a 8 GB Usb or a DVD CD

I have the same problem. I try to boot to Windows Boot Manager,
and it gets stuck on the Windows Logo and the circling dots.
Constant Restart, let it sit over night and it did not work.
I am trying to get to WBM to boot from my USB. Then again when I try to boot from my usb from the bios, it is stuck on a black screen. Thanks windows for messing up my pc with your program.

How old is your PC/Harddrive? (Average Lifespan is 4-5 years)
Perhaps your Harddrive is going bad/your older install of windows is going bad.

It came from my previous laptop that I got a while ago (4 years). Should I replace it?

Definitely, get an SSD while you are at it.

I got similar problems. Stuck at "Just a moment" ..... How to solve it? My notebook is new Samsung np500r5L-Z01 with win10 home edition. I just upgraded to win10 enterprise but it stuck at "Just a moment"and this repeats continuously again and again.....
I found online, some people suggested to disable all the networking in BIOS.

Probably bad harddrive man, just like the Original poster.

As a computer tech for the past 20 years, I've seen a lot of stuff... the "just a moment" thing seems to do with "hardware identification"...

Here's what I've done to get past this error.
1. disable network devices, turn off, wiFi and/or unplug network cable.
2. remove any USB devices plugged in, keyboard, mouse, printer, usb drive, etc...

by doing these things, I have gottem past the "just a moment" glitch, and once at my desktop, plug in or turn on the wiFi, or USB device to have the system "identify" the devices, and once up and running, with these devices, then restart, and that seems to take care of the problem for me..

Hi,
Just to clarify:
If you guys have read the problem you can see that it is NOT at the boot...
It happens at the OOBE (Out Of the Box Experience) Screen, where you can enter the Username and stuff like that (which means the OS was installed successfully).
For some reason just before entering that it just reboots, though it would NOT need to restart (only if a different language is selected)..

I do have the same problem actually with the NEW AU (build 1607), if I install it and do not go into sysprep it works fine and I can create a USER and it is perfect..,
Though I want to sysprep the machine and once finishing sysprep and restarting the PC/laptop (tried many varieties) and the OOBE appears I select Language-Network-Advanced/Quick Settings and then "Just a moment" and reboots... that is NOT a HDD or an SSD and/or for sure not because the hardware is "OLD".. (I'am installing the OS on fresh/brand new Computers, from 2015-2016)
It is a loop and there is no solution for that yet... (I tried waiting a couple of months and getting a new installer from microsoft, but still it does not work - b1607)

Sorry, but seeing the "this must be the HardDrive" answer (over and over again in some comments) was just pissing me... cause it isn't only HDD that can ruin things.

(might be redundant, but just to get an idea: HDD, SSD, RAM, Overheat, VGA, Missing Drivers, Wrong-Drivers, not compatible products, not compatible hardware, Registry, SW updates, SW, AntiMalware, AntiVirus, "Optimizer" SW - and different crapwares like: "booster", "helper", "downloader", "remover", "cleaner",.. - , Windows Updates, Tweaks, BIOS, and a LOT-LOT more can all cause your system to crash)

So...
anyone? any idea on what it could be??? how to fix it? (without a "fixit" crapware that does NOT fix jacksh++)

the problem..:

WINDOWS 10 GETS STUCK AND CAN NOT GET THROUGH THE "OOBE". THERE IS A REBOOT-LOOP.

(mistakenly voted "minus" - sorry)
yes, sometimes that works, though in this scenario it did not work for me...
for now I think I will just stay with the previous build of Windows 10 as that does not have this problem...
