Hi
A few days ago, i encountered a problem. After mounting a second HDD containing another Windows 10 installation (I was going to format this drive, in order to use it for storage later on), my computer continues to crash whenever i attempt to boot.
When i inserted that HDD, i shut down the computer, installed the drive as you'd normally do, then i attempted a boot. My BIOS chose that new drive to boot from, opposed to the HDD already mounted in my PC. That resulted in it booting into a very low resolution Windows environment, but everything was still working as you'd expect at this point. After accidentally booting from the wrong drive, i attempted boot of my older drive.
However, right after the little blue windows logo finished loading, the graphics card seemed to crash (I've attached a picture for visualization.). It does this same thing every time i try to boot.
Crash looks like: http://i.imgur.com/oKuOS1Q.jpg
Then i installed another graphics card, and booted into the correct HDD. From here i removed all things Nvidia, ran a DDU program, and made sure that there was no driver-stuff left over. Then shut down, inserted GTX 660, and i successfully booted. BUT, i attempted to run a clean, 372.70 driver install (Newest driver), and the installer never finishes as i continue to crash midway...
It seems to work fine with the standard Windows 10 graphics driver, but as soon as Nvidia drivers get's near my card gets an allergy, it seems.. It's worth noticing that i can use the computer with no problems with the GTX 660, when no NVIDIA driver is installed. To me that indicates driver issues, right?
Do you guys know a possible fix to this? I have been trying everything i could possibly think of, and followed every piece of advice i could find online....
My setup:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
RAM: Kingston DDR3 - KHX1600C9D3P1K2/8G
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.40GHz
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GTX 660
PSU: Can't remember the brand, but it was bought to be able to drive GTX 660 in SLI-mode, so i guess theres some extra room for changes.
Motherboard: B75M-D3H
Please ask if there's anything i should clarify
