Hello! I'm wondering if there is any way to create "custom" folder where i can store shortcuts. I know you can change icons and themes on the normal ones but i want a completely custom "folder" where i can store my shortcuts (if there's such a thing).
A bit comparable to the folders you can create on your phone.

Is there such a thing that one can find out there or i'm looking for something that i won't find? Like a program or something?

Thank you for your time! :)

Hm, a folder in Windows is just a filesystem object really. It sounds like you're after a different way to view it. There are alternate, third-party file explorers you can use in place of (or alongside) Windows' built-in File Explorer. Google "file explorer alternative" or "-replacement" or somesuch and choose one that fits your tastes.

There's also Stardock Fences, which customizes the Windows desktop specifically.

A folder in Windows can be given a custom icon through the right-click context menu. Bring up this menu by right-clicking the folder in question, then go to the Properties tab and click the box "Change Icon." There are a bunch of icons to chose from as well as the option to browse to a different icon file.

This folder can be placed on the desktop, or placed in the Start menu (again by right-clicking). If placed to Start after a custom icon is chosen, the Start menu will display the newly selected icon.

Yes, i'm well aware of those options. But what i'm trying to find out is if there's any way to install completely custom/add on "folders" that look nothing like the stock ones. Thanks for your time once again :)

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean by that. In addition to the option of pinning a folder to Start, you can create "folders" in Win 10's start menu in a similar way to a phone, by dragging a tile in start on top of another. Then more existing tiles can be added. SO whatever you want in a Start menu folder you can first pin then folderize this way (this "folder" will exist only in Start and not the file system. You need to have the Creators Update to Win 10 (version 1703) for this to work though; older versions don't have this ability.

Ah, i must've not been clear enough.
Let's say i have a few shortcuts/files laying on my desktop. In order to organize them some would create a "normal" folder by: right clicking -> new -> new folder. What i'm looking for is something that can replace the stock folder feature that comes with windows. Something that has a similar function but looks different.

One can compare it likes this: On an android phone you can create folders that'll look different from the ones on the Iphones IOS system. I too want to create a "custom" folder that has somewhat of the same function as the regular one just that it looks different. Perhaps something that looks a bit more modern / clean and that doesn't do much more than store shortcuts and files.
I hope i'm clear enough but i's rather hard to explain. Ty.

Reading through this, I am entirely unsure of what you're looking to do.

You can create a new folder on the desktop, and move all of your desktop shortcuts into that folder.
You can even change the icon for that particular folder to something of your choice.

What other functionality are you looking for?
