Hello,

I have a laptop i am giving away... I did the Windows 10 factory reset with the "remove files and clean drive option"..supposedly it formats the hard drive before installing. I then Ran Shredder 8 with the DOD 7 pass algorithm to wipe the free space then ran CCcleaner to wipe the free space again.

Is this enough to make sure my data is gone?

Thanks

2.5" HDD, I trust....

Actually it is more fun to take the drive apart and see how it all works.

And the internal magnet can be easily removed and put to good use as a "refrigerator" magnet. Very strong.

The shiny platters make good "scarecrows" or durable metal mirrors if you can ignore the hole in the middle.

Reuse, recycle, repurpose.

But you will indeed need to provide a replacement drive or drop the selling price on the laptop.
