Hello there, and thanks for helping me out with my strange problem.

Step by step:

-Upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7
-Sistem booted in low resolution - changed it to 1920x1080p
-Downloaded and installed the latest Nvidia driver from the Geforce experience software
-During the installation a pop-up from windows 10 tells me to restart since the new driver has been installed.
-Installation of new Nvidia driver finished, restarted the computer.
-System boots in low resolution - NO option to change it (grayed out)
-Nvidia driver appears with a yellow, triangle exclamation icon (!)

Things I've tried:
-Reinstalled nvidia driver from Geforce experience. Rebooted. No change.
-Downloaded driver from nvidia, reinstalled, rebooted. No change.
-Went into device manager, deleated driver, reinstalled driver from Nvidia. No change.
-Did everything again but with the first Windows 10 driver from Nvidia. No change.

The only thing left is unistalling Windows 10 - going back to Windows 7, but I would much rather prefer not to do it.

Please, help me out guys. PLEASE.

-Windows 10
-GTX 970
-i5-4670k 3.4Ghz
-ASUS MX279H monitor (not recognized by Windows 10, says not PnP monitor)
-MSI Z87-GD65 motherboard

2 things I would try immediately:

Option 1: Install again the driver making sure clean install is ticked.

Option 2: Download the Nvidia driver removal tool. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Remove the driver, reboot and clean install Nvidia driver.

Please also make sure your drivers are win 10 and the correct bit e.g. 64 bit and not the latest beta but latest WHQL drivers
