so ive been looking at forums for a while now and still can't find a exact answer to this but sorry if im just being a bit dumb im new to ssd 😉

I have a oem windows 10 version on my computer's hhd and I simply want to get that oem version to my ssd

i dont need my files, the majority are steam games therefore easy to download again

is this as simple as doing a full reset in recovery tab in the control panel and selecting the right partition? Id rather not get half way through something like that and see its the wrong thing to do

Any help is appreciated

Hey there again, lucluc989!

As long as the computer is the same, there's no need for you to change the OS. Factory OEM installation may have the product key included with the device packaging, or included as a card or on the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) attached to the device, or it may be preinstalled.
Since yours was preinstalled, it most probably won't ask you for a product key and the OS should get automatically activated once you go online.
Here's something from the MS knowledge base you might find useful: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/activation-in-windows-10

Best of luck! :)

Hey there, lucluc989!

There are a number of guides on how to clone/migrate! However, doing a clean install of the OS on the SSD is always the recommended thing to do because this way you'd avoid transferring some redundant system files that might bottleneck the performance. If you have any important data on the HDD currently, make sure you have backed it up somewhere off-site (on an external HDD or some other storage device).

When doing a clean install on the SSD, make sure you have the HDD unplugged from the system until the installation is completed. Otherwise, you'd encounter an OS confusion which would require you to repeat the procedure and might cause a lot of booting issues.
I'd recommend you a couple of guides to look over. The steps are similar for Windows 10, even though the tutorials are for Windows 8/8.1
Clean install of Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/clean-install
HDD & SSD optimization guide: http://www.overclock.net/t/1240779/seans-windows-8-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds

Hope these help you. Keep me posted if you have more questions! :)
