Hello Everyone,

What can one do when they first install Windows 10? To, you know, remove as much privacy concern as is possible.

Services to disable, programs to delete, registry hacks, settings, etc.

Please share!

HD.

Solution
First, opt out of every Microsoft reporting option during the install process.

This prevents Windows from sending much, including preventing the sending memory dumps that could contain personal info to microsoft.

If you want to go further, I like using this program (has a gui) https://github.com/Sycnex/Windows10Debloater

That program can remove apps like the built in games. It can remove onedrive, cortana, and completely remove the reports to microsoft (telemetry), in addition to other things.

I would use malwarebytes (free works) to keep things clean.
During the initial Windows install, you can turn off most of the options that are preselected On.

Beyond that, antivirus (I use BitDefender Free) and MalwareBytes.

Beyond that, the most valuable and effective privacy and security application lives directly between your ears.
Acting responsibly prevents far more problems than all the software in the world.

i know its not mentioned but don't use ccleaner as it tends to delete too much on a new install. Don't really need registry cleaners anymore.

windows hardly bloated. Well, on the installer anyway, Store can add a bunch of stuff you can soon uninstall again. Best thing is if you use a MIcrosoft Account, it will remember what you uninstalled so you won't need to worry about it being installed again.. on subsequent installs. Saves time.

I would ad Ublock Origin onto all Browsers, for added protection and adblocking.

Trusting Youtube videos often leads people here asking how to fix, so be careful :)
