Question windows 10 install problem

i’m using a usb to install windows to my new pc, i keep getting the ‘windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation’ message, any suggestions on things i could try to make it work?

First off, you'd need to give us the FULL parts list of your system.
Make/model of everything.

Secondly, where did the WIn 10 USB come from?

Have only single drive connected.
Clean target drive before installing windows onto it. Press Shift+F10 to open command prompt, when booted from windows installation media.
Use diskpart clean method.

Note - clean operation removes all data from the drive. So make backups, if necessary.

i have an asus prime b550M-A wifi 2 motherboard with ryzen 5500 cpu, asus 1660 gpu, crucial m.2 500gb ssd, and i’m using a 64gb sandisk usb that i downloaded windows on straight from their website

You need to use the Media Creation Tool to put Windows onto the USB, download here:

Download the tool under: Create Windows 11 Installation Media and follow the steps

When the PC boots, you need to find out the key to access the boot devices and choose your USB, should be something like UEFI Sandisk and then you will be able to install Windows.

and i’m using a 64gb sandisk usb that i downloaded windows on straight from their website

could be USB size, try using a 16gb usb stick and see if it makes any difference
