So i want to upgrade form windows 7 to windows 10, but will i loose stuff on my pc and that sorta stuff? do i have to install stuff again? Will everything that works on windows 7 work on windows 10?

I would like to say something before you even do. If you are installing on your primary rig, you will soon regret it.
The OS is good however I wouldnt install it on your primary rig yet till its release [strike]over the summer[/strike].

Hence all that, you shouldn't loose all of your items and programs. When you install it, you will be able to keep all your old windows stuff in a folder called ¨Windows.old¨. You may need to reinstall some applications if they don't run correctly, but if this isn't your primary rig then you should be fine. Again, keep in mind that if you are installing the new ¨Preview¨ be ready for some issues.

You certainly won't lose data.

Pretty much every OS upgrade lately has involved some re-installation of programs and it will tell you in advance, mostly, what those are. And there are always some programs that aren't compatible with a brand new OS. Most often large software vendors will preempt an OS release with new versions, but occasionally they will lag behind and you have to wait a few months to get working replacements. (One example, from 8-8.1 I had to wait nearly six months for a working mouse suite, only had the basic drivers during that time)

Still there, but slightly modified.

You can now run 'Charms' applications as windows. Though many of the non-MS applications are designed for full screen, so those won't be properly usable until some updates come out.

Charms menus themselves got a bit of an overhaul. No longer forced to use a full screen menu, but it is an option. Also produces a pseudo old-fashioned start menu with small icons in a row. From what I understand this isn't configurable and just shows recently used applications.

Not sure about Classic Shell, but Start 8 by Stardock works in the technical preview.

Of course these are still in the technical preview, subject to change.

The thing about Modern (Metro) apps is when you purchase or download them on a device you basically own them . So when you get a new device and when you do a clean install it's like a new device even though it may be the same hardware. So when you get a new device and you go to the store it shows what apps you have downloaded previously and you will have to DL it againn and it leaves a footrpint on your device the same way it does it for Idevices and Android. There are some default Windows Metro apps like mail, calendar, and contacts that come with Windows. I'm not sure how the camera app will work since with Windows 7 it was a desktop app and drivers are installed by the OEM but in Windows 8/8.1 the camera app was a metro (im guessing may have been installed by the OEM) unless it uses a generic driver.

Such things are actually tied to your microsoft account (MSN, MSDN, Hotmail, LiveID, Outlook, Skype...)

Microsoft expects you to log into the system using those accounts rather then the traditional username and password. If you do so that information is stored in the cloud. Redownloading the application on a different system should bring it back up exactly as you have it on all systems. As long as you have internet access they will all stay updated together.

You can still use Windows in the older manner and ignore the app store completely. (Only thing I have ever pulled from there are the OS updates (8->8.1)

Well the MS account also link to Onedrive which will be used more one Windows 10 is released. Also if your a Directv and NFL Sunday ticket fan the NFL sunday ticket app is so mush easier to use then going to DTV website. I look at Metro apps as web templates that can be great for one task however multitask apps are better suited for desktop Web apps or desktop apps.
