Hey evreyone!
I have this new pc that i just built and I want to install win10. I was wanderring if it is possible to do the installation not with a USB drive, but using the internal HDD. More specific, if I connect the new HDD in my current system and download the Windows there or if I do this on my old HDD, would it work? Would the system recognize that it can install from the connected HDD?

Solution
Not all Windows 10 licences will allow transfer to a new PC. The main example is prebuilt PCs like Dells, etc. Those are locked to the motherboard.

Others may know better, but after several builds I have not known a BIOS which allows installation from a hard drive. This is different to booting up from a hard drive.
Don't believe the BIOS would allow installation that way. Either USB or disc drive.

It may be possible to just try and reuse an old Windows 10 installation, but you'll likely run into driver conflicts with the new motherboard. Would also depend on your Windows licence.

what do you mean depends on the lisence? an since HDDs are bootable devices, why wouldn't it work?

thanks a lot for the input. it started more as an idea than a solution.so im just looking around to find if it is something that i can do or not.
