A few months back, I purchased new computer parts and started the build but didn’t finish because I had to go on a long trip.

CPU - AMD RYZEN 7 3700X
MB - MSI MEG X570 ACE
GPU – EVGA 1070 (re-used from old computer)
Memory - G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200
Cooler – Dark Rock Pro 4
SSD - ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB 3D NAND NVMe Gen3x4 PCIe M.2 2280
PSU - EVGA G3 750
Case - Phanteks PH-ES518XTG_DGS01 Enthoo Evolv X
OS – Windows 10 Home, new from USB drive

While I was on the trip, my son and his friend tried completing the build, but when they tried installing the OS on the Adata SSD, it would get stuck at around 23%. So they bought a Samsung 970 NVME 2280 SSD, but the installation stopped at the same place. After that, they managed to install the OS onto an old SATA SSD.

Now that I’m home and want to get the new computer running at its potential, any ideas on how to get OS installed on one of the NVME SSDs?

Try a different USB port, USB flash drive, new WIn10 download,,,

Run conservative RAM settings initially (normally 3200 MHz is fine, but, try 2666 MHz just in case; maybe try just one RAM stick, or, prior to another install attempt, see if Memtest86 passes a few runs with both sticks installed...

Thanks for your responses.

1) I've been told that the install stopped at 12% and not 23% as I said above.

2) They didn't use one RAM stick because that massive cooler was already on and they didn't want to take it off. My son's friend was thinking it was a RAM issue. apparently the drives were both recognized.
