Hi all this is my first pc build and im having this issue.
So the main issue is that during Windows 10 installation or even before it even begins, the pc just reboots again and again to the Windows 10 setup.

-Ryzen 5 5600x with stock cooler (New)
-Gigabyte Gtx 960 4gb windforce blue(used)
-Mobo: Msi b550m pro vdh wifi (New)
-Ram:2 sticks of 8gb 3600 crucial ballistic black (New)
-M2 Crucial P5 250 gb (New)
-Psu:Corsair cxf rgb 550 watts white (New)
-Bios last one from february 24 2022 and default settings no xmp to the ram or oc to the cpu and the bios recognizes all the components
-Usb drive toshiba 8gb

I have tried these things to try to isolate the issue:

  • Only cpu and cooler ez debug on ram so good i guess
  • Only cpu and ram led vga
  • cpu,gpu and ram boot led on
  • I have tried running the installation with one ram stick, still reboots on installation
  • I have tried two different M.2 SSDs, same issue
Im gonna try another usb drive tomorrow but i dont know if that could be the solution or not so i come here seeking for any advices of what it could be.

It would help to narrow this down to either hardware or software: if you create a usb stick with a linux live distro (e.g. LinuxMint Mate or Ubuntu Mate) and can boot from that into the linux opening screen, then at least you could verify that all of your hardware is fully functional.

I don't understand the question - At what point does the computer enter a reboot loop? After the first stage of installation? This may be because your boot order starts with the same USB drive you are installing Windows from. After the first stage finishes and restarts your PC, you can either change the boot order so that the HDD/SDD that you are installing Windows onto is first, or you can simply remove the USB flash drive.

If that is not the case and you are not even able to get to the first stage of installing Windows, I have a few suggestions:
  • Use a different USB port.
  • Use a different flash drive.
  • Redownload Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool and make sure it is on the right settings.
- In your BIOS, make sure your PC has UEFI enabled.
- When installing, make sure nothing else is connected to your computer.

Yeah i will try that

It doesnt get to the part when it reboots after the first stage completes, it either reboots at a random percentage or it doesnt even begin after chossing the m2 drive

UPDATE: Same with linux mint mate 20.3 64 bit.The exact behavior is this one i click start linux mint mate it goes to the bios logo then shows the linux logo for a few seconds, then the pc just keep going back to the bios logo and the linux setup indefinitly

Let me more precise, the reboot behavior is: the motherboard check vga for a few seconds then checks boot and the bios logo appears then the windows or linux setup appears and after a few seconds in the setup will just go black and after checking again only vga and boot the bios logo will appear again and then the linux or windows setup.

It seems we both have exact same issue on different hardware.

my thread: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/help-windows-10-crashed-went-to-boot-loop.3753120/

While yours is a new build, my build was working fine since I built it (September 2021). Happened to me yesterday (around 18 hours ago) while I was playing CSGO.

I have 5800X with MSI X570 Pro Carbon Wifi mobo with 3070.

I suspect issue might be with mobo. Not really sure what can I do more to troubleshoot other than ripping everything out again and test individually.

Yeah just seen your thread, i think its either mobo or psu. I asked this exact same thread on reddit tech support and they told me it can be that the psu could be faulty but idk i guess i will replace psu first then mobo it its not psu, i did test all the components individually and they seem to work fine so either the mobo is not handling well the power or the psu for whatever reason cant go with this system. But lts kinda unlucko because psu and mobo are pretty new and i treated them very carefully.

Well in your case its all new. My case everything was working very well since months without any issue. So its hard to say PSU is faulty. My build also was all brand new parts and also PSU is from reputed brand (NZXT) and not gigabyte or other cheaper brands.

When are you planning to test new PSU? Please update me how it goes.

I will have to wait till i get the money back so maybe 2 or 3 days waiting,if you change mobo tell me too if that works for you, in your case i guess it has to be mobo because yeah psu did worked for you doing all kind of things

Unfortunately I might be taking longer time because I spoke with MSI service center and they asked me to bring mobo to them. Now the issue is I atleast have to travel around 200kms in order to reach nearest service store.

I will have to make time in coming days due to work n all. I will also try to check for alternate PSU if I manage from anyone else for time being and check.

Ok i will let you know when i test the new psu

UPDATE: Somehow it managed to go past the first stage of the windows installation but when it asks you to reboot the pc rebooted stayed like 1 min on the bios logo "preparing services" then the windows blue screen of wait a moment and then rebooted continuosly until the screen went black, no ez debug leds on at all the pc keeps running but no image at all.

UPDATE: okay this is pretty rare, with the new psu now the pc gets stuck on vga led indefinitily, with the other one will get past vga but will boot loop as i said on windows setup. All things are plugged correctly but i get no signal on hdmi or display port.Guess its just the motherboard but idk
