Windows 10 machine shuts down when told to sleep

My computer completely shuts down when I tell it to sleep. Completely. It won't turn back on by clicking the mouse, and when I press the power button, it goes through the regular startup process, not resuming windows. This seems to have started from a recent power outage that I had while playing a game on it, and adjusting the power settings doesn't help the problem at all. What else can I do?
