Windows 10 microphone doesn't work

Microhpone works on my mobile but doesn't on windows.
****** windows, what a piece of crap. What to do? Please help!

If you are running the latest version of windows (1803), then you need to have the 'Allow apps to access your microphone' setting set to 'on' in settings>privacy>microphone.
You can turn off all the individual apps but the main setting must be left on.

It was on. There is no sound bar raising in sound settings when i speak into microphone. However when I speak into airbud there is some sound and it can be recorded.
