I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, having trouble with multiple monitors. My main monitor is a regular computer screen, the other is a television connected via HDMI. Whenever I press "Windows + P" and choose "extend," everything (icons, Open Windows) is transferred away from my computer monitor to the television screen. Before upgrading, it would stay on a my computer monitor. If I go to "settings", "system," "display" there is a box "make this my main display" that is grayed out. Any ideas on how I can get everything to stay on my computer monitor with I click extend?

Right click on the taskbar, open properties, and uncheck the checkbox that says "Show taskbar on all displays"
