Windows 10 not booting after installing, can't boot from USB ?
Hi all. Bit of a tech noob so patience please! I tried fixing up my old PC, putting in a new SSD and installed windows 10 from USB. Installation went fine, restarted it a couple times after installing, no problems.
Went to boot today and it gets to the windows logo on a black screen and freezes. Sometimes it has the loading dots, sometimes not. Check BIOS, it had 1st boot as the SSD (1TB) and the 2nd as "2.2tb infinity". Tried disabling that, then it comes up saying
"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". Nothing happening from there.
I put in the USB to try to reinstall windows, did a fresh windows media creation on it, windows logo briefly flashed up and then its just flickering black screen. Tried in BIOS with the USB being 1st boot, both with the SSD being in 2nd or just having it disabled, still flashing black.
I try again and now it's not even recognising the USB in BIOS, still recognises the SSD.
Read one thing about disabling SVM/virtualisation but that hasn't changed anything.
No idea where to go from here. Updating BIOS maybe because it's an old motherboard, but scared that this will end badly lol. Am I just giving up on this PC?
