Hello all,

Today, my new processor came in and I just installed it. previously, I was running with a FX4100, I upgraded to the FX 8320. My bios recognized the cpu upgrade.

However, in windows 10, the device manager still thinks that I am running with the 4100 and my performance monitor is saying that I have the 4100.

Looking online, I found this old Windows help topic for if windows does not update the cpu information: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/930861

However, This applies to windows Vista based PC.

Before I do anything (because I really do not feel like to brick the computer), I wanted to check with the community to see if anyone else had a similar issue and what they did to solve it. Basically, should I follow the instructions in the Microsoft link that I placed? Or, is there a better and more appropriate way of doing things?

I plan on restarting my computer to see if maybe that will help things.

For those wondering, I did not update my modo. I am still working with the Sabertooth FX990 Rev 1 (Still good) This processor is supported and it is the second highest processor I can install.
