Question Windows 10 not updating

Hey friends! For about a week now my computer has been asking me to update and everytime I select "Update and Restart or Update and Shutdown" After the reboot it'll tell me "Could not complete update" any idea's why? Never had this issue before

can you go to settings/update & security/windows update
look in update history and click on the link for the update that keeps failing, and show it here?
easiest way to see which version you on now.

Nope, and these days I don't even bother to try to determine a root cause. Windows 10 makes a repair install using the ISO file so easy that whatever it is that has caused this sort of "constipation" can be quickly dispatched with.

Go to this webpage: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors


Select Windows 10 (or whichever version might happen to be appropriate if not Windows 10).

Click/tap on the Windows Update Troubleshooter link, then click/tap on Save, then OK.

Open the folder where you saved the file. You can most easily do this using the download manager on your browser using the “Open Folder” (or similar) option. This should open the folder and show latestwu.diagccab as selected. Double click on it.

Click/tap on Next. This will run the diagnostic.
