Windows 10 Page File Issue

Hey all,

I have recently been having a very strange issue with my page file in Windows 10 Pro. I have a 250gb EVO 850 for my OS and various other drives for other programs, documents etc. It is a pretty standard install of Windows 10 with just a few things tweaked for better performance in audio software (i.e. Cubase).

For the past little bit (it might have even been since upgrading but I didn't notice) whenever I place my page file on my SSD and restart windows creates its own temporary page file stating there was an error. This happens no matter what min/max values I put. The temporary page file that windows creates is also a whopping 32gb! I do have 32gb of physical ram installed so I don't think it is a sheer coincidence but I have tried everything I can think of and it still panics every restart and adds its own page file.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I think it works okay if I put the page file on another drive, which is a possibility, but I want to contain all of the OS to one drive just in case I have to unmount the other drive etc. It's not a huge deal but I really want to figure out what is causing it.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :)

Did you go through this tutorial? On a side note, can you please pass on your full system's specs and make sure your BIOS and device drivers(namely chipset and storage) are all up to date?

I'm also curious about this:
...(it might have even been since upgrading but I didn't notice)...
Are you speaking of upgrading your old OS to Windows 10 or are you speaking of adding new components to your system?

Hey, thanks for the reply! Everything should be up to date although I am about to check my bios now just in case. I did go through all the steps of that tutorial already and tried many different min/max values but none of them took and windows always replaces it with its own "temporary page file" that is always the same size as my ram, 32gb. As you can see below my computer is actually reporting an insanely high amount of virtual ram.

I have also tried setting all my drives manually to 0gb page file and then manually deleting the page file but it still defaults back to the windows create a temporary page file error.

Here are my system specs:
