Windows 10 Pro expired and needs to be re-activated. The system found that there is only a Windows 10 Home ID-code. Can I downgrade to windows 10 Home, and how?

Solution
I don;t believe you can "downgrade" within Windows itself, but you can reinstall your OS, installing the Home variant.

Ensure you back up your data beforehand, and you can create install media here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

IIRC, you can only "upgrade" via that route, not "downgrade". I could well be wrong OP, so double-check.

I agree. From my experience, you can go "up", but not "down". To go "down", requires a re-install.

How did it "expire"?
Where did the Win 10 Pro come from originally?

Valid Win 10 Pro or Home license don't "expire", unless you changed hardware.
