Windows 10 reactivation after motherboard swap?

So on my system i am currently running the retail version of windows 10 home, and have messed up my motherboard by a fault of my own and will be ordering a replacement which is the exact same model. Will my windows need reactivation after the motherboard change or will the license stay? Cheers.

It will probably need reactivation, but it should do that automatically.

If it doesn't, a call to the phone robot at MS should clear that up.

If it is the exact same model you'll probably be fine.

Worst case scenario you'll have to contact Microsoft Support to unflag the key, but they are usually very understanding of the circumstances you've described.
